Welcome to our monthly senior news letter for Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living in Longview WA. Some of our activities/events are for seniors, some are for all ages. Some are for residents, some are open to the general public and you’re invited! Please call us at 360-423-7392 for details about specific activities and events.
If you have an event or club that needs a nice (free) place to meet and enjoy, please contact us. We consider all reasonable requests.
If you have out-of-town friends or family who come to visit and need a place to stay, we offer furnished apartments for short term stay or extended stay in Hearthside Luxury Apartments located 1/4 block from Somerset.

Activities Highlights for last 10 days of October 2019
October 23rd, 2019October 28, 11:45 AM Live piano music and singing by Monte Waters.
Knitting Gals club meets Tuesday 29th, 1:30 to 3 PM. All ages are invited, including kids. This is an activity for anyone with an interest in knitting. The public is invited.
Bible Study group meets Tuesday 29th, 2:30 to 3:30 PM.
Camera Club meets Tuesday 29th, 7 to 8 PM. All ages are invited, including kids. This is an activity for anyone with an interest in photography. The public is invited.
October 31, 1:30 PM Halloween party with live music and singing by Phoenix band.
October 31, 6-7 PM children of staff, residents grand-kids, and neighborhood kids will trick or treat in the lobby. Staff will be there to assist residents, including staff will provide residents with candy for the kids.

Field-Trip to Berry Patch Restaurant
September 1st, 2019Somerset residents climbed aboard our bus for a scenic drive and a boat ride. Our residents will have lunch at the Berry Patch restaurant in Westport, Oregon. We have lots of fun with our residents!

When they arrive at their destination, they will feast at the Berry Patch Restaurant in Westport.
We have lots of fun with our residents. This summer we had many activities, including several field trips. Come join the fun! You are invited!

September 1st, 2019Comfort Kid Knitting with Knitting Club
July 25th, 2019The comfort kid in the photo below is Lisee the daughter of one of Somerset’s administrators. She’s also a member of the Longview Knitting Gals Club that meets at Somerset (Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3 PM).
Lisee enjoys learning to knit with the Knitting Gals club. She’s getting good at it and has entered a stocking hat she made in the Cowlitz County Fair. Good luck Lisee! We hope you win!
Longview Knitting Gals club membership is free. The public is invited. All ages are invited. Members range in age from kids to seniors. If you don’t know how to knit, they’ll happily teach you!
Here are some of the hats the Knitting Gals made in 2019. They give away 1,000 hats to charity each year.

Welcome to our Senior News for Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living in Longview WA. All seniors are invited to participate (whether a Somerset resident or not). Some of our activities and events are for specifically for seniors, some are for all ages to enjoy. Most of our events are open to the public with all people invited!
If you have an event or club that needs a nice place to meet and enjoy, please contact us. We consider all reasonable requests. Several local clubs meet regularly at Somerset, including the Retired Teachers Association, Cowlitz County Camera Club (great for all ages), and Genealogy Club.
For out of town friends or family (of Somerset residents) who visit and need a place to stay, we offer furnished apartments for extended stay in Longview WA half a block from Somerset including furniture; full kitchen with appliances, cookware, dinnerware; kitchen and bathroom soap; shampoo, linens, free laundry machines, free WIFI, and more).
