Samantha is our receptionist and executive assistant at Somerset Retirement Home.

Mariisa – Somerset Alternative Administrator

Mariisa has worked for Bond Apartments Longview WA since she was a young girl in her teens and she started as Administrator of Somerset Senior Apartments and Assisted Living when she was just 23 years old. Mariisa enjoys traveling and has lived several years overseas in Japan as a college student and JET teacher. She and her husband are proud parents of two beautiful little girls. Each fall, Mariisa and her family enjoy traveling to Mexico for visits with her husband’s family. Mariisa also enjoys helping her father Charles with his challenging projects.

Vera – Somerset Registered Nurse (on the right)

Vera was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota to a family of five girls. She has an identical twin sister, Vicki, who is also a nurse. She spent her childhood years growing up in Minnesota and North Dakota, and then moved to Walla Walla, Washington during her high school years. Vera’s nursing career has included working in hospitals, traveling as a nurse for Community Home Health and Hospice, and teaching educational classes for Elder Options.
For ten years, from 1997-2006, she worked just across the street from Somerset at Westgate Terrace as their service coordinator. Vera and her husband, Carl, reside in Longview with their dog, Barney, and their cat, Penny. Her hobbies are golfing (any chance she gets) and traveling (anywhere and anytime someone says let’s go!).

Evelyn – Somerset Licensed Practical Nurse

Hi, I’m Evelyn. I was born and raised in the Philippines. I moved to USA when I was 20 years old. Soon after I met my husband. We now have 5 children and live in Oregon. I am an LPN and enjoy working toward my RN to advance my career.

I love working with seniors. I look forward to meeting you!

Somerset Head Cook and Dietary Supervisor

Liz was born in St. Helens and grew up in Rainer, Oregon, just across the river. Her husband and her met and married when she was 19 and they are proud parents of twin boys and a daughter, and they now have 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Liz loves sewing, baking, and cake decorating. She has even made several cakes for weddings and baby showers that have taken place at Somerset and New Westside Terrace over the years. Liz has been part of the Bond Apartments Longview WA family since Somerset first opened in 1998 and she was instrumental in getting the New Westside Terrace satellite kitchen open and running.
