Somerset Annual Bazaar Nov 15, 2019
November 4th, 2019Somerset Bazaar Friday, November 15, 2019 from 9 am to 3 pm. The public is invited.
Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living is at 2025 Tibbetts Drive, Longview WA.
Come have fun with us! You are invited!
There will be beautiful Christmas wreaths for sale outside. Hand-made locally.
There will be handmade arts and crafts inside, including quilts and many other beautiful things. Some items are hand-made by Somerset residents (quilts seen below). Other items are hand-made by local crafts men and women who sell their wares at Somerset’s bazaar each year.
Some of our residents make high quality quilts to sell at the bazaar.
Arts, Crafts, Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations, foods, and various holiday goods.
Come join the fun November 15, 9 am to 3 am. We look forward to having fun with you at the bazaar!

Welcome to our monthly senior news letter for Somerset Retirement Home and Assisted Living in Longview WA. Some of our activities/events are for seniors, some are for all ages. Some are for residents, some are open to the general public and you’re invited! Please call us at 360-423-7392 for details about specific activities and events.
If you have an event or club that needs a nice (free) place to meet and enjoy, please contact us. We consider all reasonable requests.
If you have out-of-town friends or family who come to visit and need a place to stay, we offer furnished apartments for short term stay or extended stay in Hearthside Luxury Apartments located 1/4 block from Somerset.

Halloween Desserts
November 2nd, 2019Our head cook, Liz made Halloween aprons for kitchen staff, and they made Halloween desserts from scratch for our afternoon Halloween party.

Trick or Treating 2019 at Somerset!
November 2nd, 2019Staff and residents dressed up for Halloween 2019 and had a party that day, and gave candy to trick or treating kids that night. The pics below are of kids trick or treating in the lobby Halloween evening. Staff gave candy to the residents ahead of time. The residents enjoyed giving candy to kids in the lobby.
The kids are staff members’ kids, residents’ grandkids, and kids from the neighborhood. This is an annual event every Halloween.

Activities Highlights for last 10 days of October 2019
October 23rd, 2019October 28, 11:45 AM Live piano music and singing by Monte Waters.
Knitting Gals club meets Tuesday 29th, 1:30 to 3 PM. All ages are invited, including kids. This is an activity for anyone with an interest in knitting. The public is invited.
Bible Study group meets Tuesday 29th, 2:30 to 3:30 PM.
Camera Club meets Tuesday 29th, 7 to 8 PM. All ages are invited, including kids. This is an activity for anyone with an interest in photography. The public is invited.
October 31, 1:30 PM Halloween party with live music and singing by Phoenix band.
October 31, 6-7 PM children of staff, residents grand-kids, and neighborhood kids will trick or treat in the lobby. Staff will be there to assist residents, including staff will provide residents with candy for the kids.
Delay in Posting October Calendar and News
October 14th, 2019Our staff member who makes the monthly calendar and newsletter was ill. She is well now, but her absence earlier in the month delayed our October publication of October calendar. We will not have an October newsletter.

Millie’s 98th Birthday Party
September 18th, 2019On Sept 4th, Millie celebrated her 98th birthday party with Somerset residents while on a field trip to El Tapatio restaurant in Rainier Oregon.
Somerset residents and staff had a good time! We have fun!
