Comfort Kids Like to Visit Somerset
July 21st, 2019Comfort kids are kids who come to Somerset to visit with residents for the mutual enjoyment of kids and seniors.
In the candid photo above, they’re dancing to Hawaiian music.
They enjoy visiting Somerset, especially during parties for all ages. Residents enjoy socializing with the kids. This is good for seniors enjoyment and morale, and the kids have a good time too! Residents’ grand-kids also have a good time visiting grandparents, especially at our parties for all ages events.
Here some comfort kids are taking a break from visiting. They’re playing soccer in Somerset’s backyard. Residents get a kick out of them. In the candid photo above, their soccer game turned into a wrestling match. They clearly don’t understand the rules of soccer!
These kids love to visit Somerset! It’s a good time for them because they like free drinks and visiting with residents. The residents like visiting with kids. These kids have a standing invitation to visit. Sometimes a staff member picks them up from their home and brings them over for a visit. In the photo above, the kids are taking a break and resting while petting a resident’s dog.

This is one of Somerset’s two beautiful backyards. Residents, pets, grand kids, and other visitors to enjoy our backyards.
Between our backyards is our pond, which is enjoyed by residents, visitors, pets, frogs, fish, wild ducks, geese, pigeons, and during stormy weather – seagulls.
Wild ducks (and occasionally geese and seagulls) like to visit, swim, and eat tadpoles and baby fish; which is fine because they prevent over population of fish. They don’t bother the medium and larger fish. The ducks and geese add to the wildlife fun and entertainment. One particular duck has a lot of babies and is mostly tame. She leads her babies around the pond and backyard, and sometimes the sidewalks.
Ducks enjoy swimming and fishing in Somerset’s pond. Here you see a duckling mid-air as she jumps in.
Mom walking her ducklings across the parking lot. They commute between our pond and a local canal a block away. These wild ducks are city ducks. This duck mom is a street smart urbanite.
